Spotify is launching its usual global campaign Wrapped 2021, an annual retrospective that reveals to users which artists, albums, tracks and podcasts they've enjoyed most.
Music has been able to offer an escape to the French in this anxious and depressing year. There's no denying the rise of rap music from Marseille, which has topped several Spotify charts. Jul is the French most listened artist of 2021. As for Angèle, she hit the top spot this year with several tracks. Spotify has therefore slipped into the shoes of a Jul fan and an Angèle fan, going through the key events of the past year : confinement, boredom and burst of creativity, then deconfinement and the return to "normal" life.
